As Chief of the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department, I am honored to lead a team of highly dedicated and skilled volunteers committed to protecting the lives and property of our community. Our department strives to maintain the highest level of preparedness and professionalism, ensuring we can respond effectively to any emergency.
The members of the SVFD embody excellence, bravery, and selfless service. Whether responding to fires, medical emergencies, or other critical incidents, we stand ready to serve with the utmost dedication. Our members actively engage in fire prevention, community engagement, and continuous training to hone our response capabilities.

The Sherman Volunteer Fire Department is throwing it back for the 2026 Firemen’s Ball on August 1st, and you won't want to miss it! Break out your best retro gear and join us for an evening of peace, love, and community support.
Here is the lowdown:
🎶 Live Music: Jam out to 60s & 70s hits by One Level Down, plus a special performance by Don Lowe.
🍽️ Dinner: A delicious roast beef dinner (vegetarian options available) served at 6:30 PM.
🎁 Fun & Games: Raffles, door prizes, and a highly competitive contest for the Best Themed Table!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We need folks who can drive the fire trucks and ambulance, so please sign up! It is a great way to earn participation points and connect with the community! We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Volunteer With SVFD
The Sherman Volunteer Fire Department offers many ways to give back. Beyond fire, EMS, and other emergency responders, we are also seeking volunteers to assist with events, administrative operations, and fundraising.
· No Experience Needed: We provide comprehensive, zero-cost training for all roles.
· Junior Member Program: High school students ages 16-18 are invited to join, offering an excellent opportunity to build leadership skills and serve the community.
